Daily Mood Meter – Snarky

Snarky

Today’s mood is not mine but that of a neighbour who has recently lodged a complaint. The word is an interesting one as I have not heard it in common use.

Snarky –

1 Sarcastic, impertinent or irreverent intone or manner; snide: Sarky is a just a cooler way of saying sarcastic

2. Testy, irritable or short tempered; irascible, having a rudely critical tone or manner: snarky humor.

“He was being so snarky with me. Yeah, snarky is a word:. google it”. Dane Cook

Snarky is described as a witty mannerism, personality or behaviour that is a combination of sarcasm and cynicism. Usually accepted as a complimentary term, snarky is sometimes mistaken for a snotty or arrogant attiitude. (this is where the neighbour’s complaint comes in) I have a neighbour who gets snarky if my dog barks more than twice!

Synonym: George Costanzaschnauzer

Antonym: Ozzie Nelson

Pig Latin: Arkysnay

Something to ponder about today.
