I am a Rosemaler? This is my Rosemaling, through a Photo editing Camera app. I am planning on adding a border with an appropriate proverb.
Rosemaling is the traditional art of Norway, and today is Norway’s bi centenary: 200 years an independent nation today.
Gratulerer med dagen, Norway.
How about that? Australia is older than Norway! Australia had its bi-centenary in 1988.
Something to Ponder About.

A philosophic Aussie writes here at StPA, one who will readily admit to loving Scandinavia. I'm interested in global politics and what drives us to be who we are. Scratch the surface and you'll find a practical Environmentalist with an egalitarian bent, trying to unleash a little creativity via the written word.
Scandinavian culture, literature and traditions are close to my heart, even though I'm Australian. Travel and courteous discussions greatly broaden the mind, so I travel if I can and am always up for a vigorous, respectful discussion. I'm an avid reader, a writer and I enjoy photography and crafts, particularly traditional art forms. I hope you'll find 'Something to Ponder About,' in my WordPress Community.

I don’t understand, Amanda: you’re saying you made this beautiful thing using a camera app??? That doesn’t seem to make sense; it appears to be chalk, and on the ground … I’d be really happy if you’d explain a bit for me; for it’s really appealing !

This is rosemaling, the traditional form of peasant painting from Norway that I practise and paint. I painted this on a wooden platter and then photographed it. Then put the photo through a camera app which produced this picture here, making it look like chalk on a pavement. Easy. Clear as mud?? 🙂

In one sense, Yes! But then it also depends which history we are talking about. Aboriginal history is I suppose one of the very oldest.

I never really thought about that until now, Ann Christine. It is funny to think in these terms. And thank you for your lovely compliment. I still have much to learn, which is the one of the reason for my trips to Norway.

This is beautiful, your original painting and then the changing on the photo. Very clever.
