Monday Mystery Photo- Last Time Poland

Each Monday, I post a mystery photo, or occasionally a mystery object. I encourage you to leave a comment if you think you might know where this week’s mystery photograph, is located, or what it is. If you guess correctly, I will link back to your blog the following week when the answer will be revealed.

Drop me an email if you would like to submit a photography to Monday Mystery Photo. Guest submissions of MM photos are very welcome.

Where would you find the following structure?

Last week just as Drake, TidiousTed, and Pooja from Stories from Europe commented, we were in Poland. In  fact in Dziekanowice, Poland, not far from the famous Gniezno cathedral you will find large sculptures of the first Piasts. The Piast dynasty ruled Poland between the 10th and 14th centuries.

About Forestwoodfolk

Scandinavian culture, literature and traditions are close to my heart, even though I am Australian. I have Scandinavian, Frisian and Prussian/Silesian ancestry and for that reason, I feel a connection with that part of the world. I am an avid Nordic Crime fiction reader, and enjoy photography, writing and a variety of cooking and crafts, and traditional decorative art forms. Politically aware and egalitarian by nature, I have a strong environmental bent.

  1. Good to know that it was in Poland 🙂
I think today’s photo is somewhere in Belgium or Netherlands due to the architecture of the surrounding houses. But I will rather go for the Netherlands.
I visited Amsterdam and the surroundings this past March and visited a charming town called Alkmaar, which this photo looks very similar to 🙂

Leonaert Bramer one of my favorite painters was born in this city – in my late teenager years I had a girlfriend from this city, her mother was working in this building – really an impressing hall there, when you step inside… 😀

Another country in which I have been a lot of times. My guess would be the old city of Delft, known for it’s porcelaine among other things
