mmpoct16What town are we overlooking in the above photo?  And if that is too easy, what structure is the photo taken from?

Last time, on Monday Mystery Photo, we were in The Netherlands, in Delft’s Markt square, at the City Hall, a beautiful Renaissance style building, seen below.

It is the former seat of the city’s government, and still today the place where residents hold their civic wedding ceremonies. Originally designed by the Dutch architect Hendrick de Keyser, it was heavily changed over the centuries and was restored in the 20th century to its Renaissance appearance. [Source:

The following bloggers guessed correctly! Well done!

Pooja from Stories from Europe

Drake from LeDrakeNoir

The above – mentioned bloggers Pondered About the photograph. Enough to accurately guess its location. Will they do it again this week?

  1. The double decker would suggest Englnd of course, as it is red, had it been burgundy it could have been Scotland, but as the bus is on the right side of the road it must be a Norwegian tourist bus. (we use double deckers) We have them both in Oslo and Bergen. The mountain in the background is too tall for Oslo so my guess is Bergen. A wild guess for the building the picture is taken from would be the Hakon’s Hall “”Håkonshallen”

If I’m right, this would make the sailing ship the school ship “Statsråd Lehmkuhl”

  2. It’s looking familar to norwegian Bergen – so I agree with “tidiousted”, maybe the location the photo is taken is “Rosenkrantz Tower” just beside “Haakonshallen” – in Bergen we can meet these red “hop on hop off” busses… 🙂
