A philosophic Aussie writes here at StPA, one who will readily admit to loving Scandinavia. I'm interested in global politics and what drives us to be who we are. Scratch the surface and you'll find a practical Environmentalist with an egalitarian bent, trying to unleash a little creativity via the written word.
Scandinavian culture, literature and traditions are close to my heart, even though I'm Australian. Travel and courteous discussions greatly broaden the mind, so I travel if I can and am always up for a vigorous, respectful discussion. I'm an avid reader, I enjoy photography and craft, particularly traditional art forms. I hope you'll find 'Something to Ponder About,' in my WordPress Community.

Reading about travelling is next best to doing it. 🙂
I followed your link to your post about Zurich… Oh, so sad you didn’t get a great impression of the city… It can be really cold and humid in December, I think it would be probably the worst month to visit the city if the Christmas atmosphere didn’t compensate the wintery feeling. You should give the city another chance! Late spring and summer are delicious times to visit Zurich: not as many tourists as Lucerne or Bern, everything is green and full of color, Zurichers are all around in terraces, badis and parks enjoying the sun and the lake till the sun goes down and, in general, people’s mood is more festive!
If there’s a second trip to Zurich in the future, I’ll give you some insider tips so you can enjoy more the city 🙂
I just came back from living in Copenhagen and I miss it so much!
I also just started my travel blog. Would love it if you gave it a read and would welcome any advice.

Indeed, M.R. It whets the appetite a tad, too, don’t you think?

If I travel to Australia, will you show me where to get a shrimp on the barbie and teach me to box a Kangaroo?

Ah, Mike you have loads to learn. I will certainly show you how not to “come the raw prawn,” and to throw a “prawn” (read shrimp), on the barbie! Boxing a kangaroo is best left to the experts – it is a bit unPC now… To prepare for your visit, here is a language lesson! Lol! https://forestwoodfolkart.wordpress.com/2015/01/26/shell-be-right-mate-wont-she-this-is-australia/
