Can you find something in your photographic archives to share in a post?
Every second Friday, I host the Friendly Friday Photo Challenge with a different theme to challenge you.
Do you spot something around you that fits the weekly theme?
Our imagination is your only limitation.
Weekly Friendly Friday Theme
The Friendly Friday Community is inclusive of diversity. We have participants from many regions and our sense of community grows with each weekly challenge.
Community naturally evolves when a group of people come together to achieve something. And thus, the theme for this week’s photography challenge is:
‘Working Together‘
You scratch my back and I’ll return the favour.
With many of us in Lockdown, the theme, “Working Together,” might be more difficult. So ‘Community’ is an alternate theme, you can use or think about.
Do remember this is an opportunity to search your archives for a photograph, and there are no limits as to how you decide to interpret this theme.
The whole world is trying to Work Together to defeat the pandemic, albeit in their own different, or more effective/less effective ways. The ultimate goal is still consistent.
This Friendly Friday theme is really not that hard – nor is Danish Folk Dancing.
When we can’t be together in a physical sense, there is always the virtual community, here at WordPress, collaborating, commenting, inspiring, posting.
I look forward to seeing what you interpret as your Community Working Together.

Ooops … I wonder what that photo was?? From a birthday of somebody called Gisela, I think … Anyway, I’ve changed it. The name by which I’m known to most people ist … drumroll … Knicker Elastic (and I kid you not, more people know me by that name than my given, boring, first name). š

Is that what you would like me to call you?

Knicker is fine. The full name is for official occasions only š (You don’t know how many people pointed out the irony when I had run out of elastic for sewing face masks!)

I am so glad that you are a part of the community here too, Sofia, especially with wonderful photos such as those that you have posted. There were a real delight to see. Every man has a different expression – from sublime to stress and all those in between. A fantastic memory and the photos allow you to see the details that one would miss in that eyeblink, as they went past.

Here’s my link- https://acacophonouslife.com/2020/04/30/friendly-friday-photo-challenge-working-together/. Things are going okay I guess! In New Jersey, the number of people who have tested positive for Covid 19 keeps increasing and is at a 118,000+with 7200 fatalities. So, we are staying home and with two small kids it can be a challenge at times! It gets depressing at times but I am looking forward to the day when there will be a medicine effective enough to cure this…aren’t we all? Hope you are doing good,Amanda. Were you able to get the needed asthma medication?

That’s another like for the monkeys photo, and I’m intrigued by the one below it.. Still trying to figure out what they’re up to. Here’s mine: https://grahamsisland.com/2020/04/25/hydration-station/

I will pop over and check out your hydration station, Graham. The photo after the monkeys are kids in an indoor rock climbing centre, sorting out the harnesses and belaying ropes. It was a popular activity for kids birthday parties. Do you have them in Hawaii?

I figured they must be doing something like that. I don’t know whether there are indoor rock climbing walls here. I haven’t heard of one on the Big Island but I imagine there must be one or two elsewhere in Hawaii.

You figuring was on the mark! I wasn’t sure how popular this activity was, outside Australia.

Lovely prompt, Amanda. It made me think of my role-models on how to work and be together. ā¤ The poem is a weird stream-of-consciousness though.

I think of the Danes as such modern people I don’t think of them as having folk dances.. wonderful.. š

There is actually a huge world of folk dancing in Denmark and the rest of the world. We have clubs here in Australia and this photo is of one of them. I used to do it myself!! They have world championships/festivals each year and thousands attend! Some of the dances are very old and a lot of fun.

I agree! We do need this collaboration to get through the pandemic. I will pop over and check out your photos. How is the situation in your area, Maria? Are you in partial lock-down?
LikeLiked by 1 person
The situation is OK, but of course strained for the medical part of the community. I have been working from home the last 5-6 weeks, having all my classes and staff meetings on-line and will continue that way for the rest of the term. The whole family is working or studying from home except one who is still working on site. He works with distributing medicine and such to both pharmacies and individuals. A work quite necessary these days.
We are keeping are social interacting at a minimum and limit the shopping for groceries to a few times a week. The hoarding of toilet paper and pasta that happened in the beginning seems to have stopped and now you can find almost everything you need.
Thankfully we are able to go outside and get some sunshine and fresh air.
How are you getting along?

I am glad to hear that the hoarding has settled down. It seems that it is becoming like that here too. Although hand santiser is very hard to find. I am on leave from work as I am in a higher risk category and I wasn’t feeling comfortable at work, without proper precautions that we were not allowed to wear due to professional standards. I have quite a bit of leave so will reassess once that has finished what it is that I should do.
