Poetry Challenge for July

Turn on the radio to any channel. Write a poem inspired by the first thing you hear (lyrics to a song, a commercial, etc.) A Mother's Lament examines the difficulties many military families face: the re-adjustment phase of Veterans returning to normal life, after the horrors of armed conflict, and trying to deal with PTSD. This is my contribution to the Poetry Challenge that runs until October.
