CBBH Photo Challenge: Ancient and Modern

East of Malaga has set us the following photo challenge for this month. It includes mention of two blogs I have visited this past month.

The Viking Queen

Leya

Anyway, for this month’s challenge, if I were to I say “Ancient and Modern” – what would you think of?  Would it be hymns, languages, history, art, the Olympics or maybe architecture?  Within one photograph, I want you to show me your interpretation of Ancient and Modern.

The first and last photos are taken in Denmark, and the middle photo is Aalesund, in Norway. The grating of the modern skscrapers, against the old world buildings, and crane against the immaculate Art Nouveau architecture is stark. It must be a challenge for Town planners and compulsive aesthetic lovers to reconcile the modern cities’ needs with their historic past. Modern architecture is quite intrusive due to its height and size. Yet, it is progress and it is modern society.

If you wish to join in with the challenge, each month, you will find more info here:

In accordance with the challenge I am mentioning two blogs here:

The Viking Queen

Leya

I hope you can ponder about their posts today.

  1. You know – they blend very well together – the older and more modern buildings. Great photos – well done!

Thanks for the links to two blogs – I’ll HOP over there, right away 🙂
