I was wondering about the towel day, but didn’t want to ask. I didn’t have to ask about the Don’t Panic on the hillside. Did Douglas Adams know of it?

Now you saw about the towel day, right? It’s from the same place than Don’t Panic. 🙂 He was gone for more than ten years when that was set up, I believe.

Funny. I don’t remeber the towel thing from the audioseries – as it was back in the day. It was the early eighties when I listened to this story. But I do remember ‘Don’t Panic’ and ’42.’

Hey Pooja! Kind of you to say that about the photos here. I thought of you when I posted that photo and was hoping you might stop by. It is a pagoda the Nepalese government built here for the World Expo in 1988. Afterwards, they left it here as it was too expensive to dismantle again. The City Council maintain it but it is actually empty inside. Perhaps they rent it out as a function space, I am unsure. Whatever they do, I love to visit it. It reminds me of my time in beautiful Nepal and the intricate woodcarving is always interesting to look at. I wonder if there are other Nepalese pagodas around the world outside of Nepal?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Wow interesting story behind the temple. I thought it was built by the Nepali community there. there are Hindu temples in places with Hindu immigrant population like the US, UK and Australia, but I think most of them are built by Indians. I am not aware of those unique Nepali pagodas outside of Nepal, so the one at Brisbane is interesting indeed!
LikeLiked by 1 person
I remember it was said it was unique at the time. Not only did they build it but during the expo they had a pottery kiln operating and made those traditional pots and terracotta/clay trinkets. I bought a few😉

As always, a marvelous collection, Amanda! I usually don’t point out which ones I like the most as I find it hard to choose and it was the same this time around too… all the photos are beautiful:) However, when it comes to sunrises and sunsets..I have an extra special place for them in my heart…who doesn’t..right?! So, in this collection…those are my favorites along with the moonlit night!! And I loved the choice of the term ‘illumination’, rather than light.

No. Not the cat nor the rock photo is inappropriate at all. It is just the link you typed within your comment on my friendly friday Illumination post takes to to the cat page, not the rock. I assumed from your comment that it should be linking the photo of the sun on the rock to the Ilumination prompt?? Is that the post you wanted to be linked to Friendly Friday’s Illumination prompt?

I actually wanted to link the cat on sculpted rock in the sun. Sorry if that was confusing. Then we can just let the links be. Thanks.

Your photos are amazing, really amazing and showcase your talent as a photographyer. That first sunrise photo was incredible. Where was that taken? Is that a remnant of a shipwreck poking out of the water?

There still seems to be issues with pingbacks at times. Sometimes they’re there and sometimes not. The sunrise was taken 10 minutes from where I live. It Colpoy’s Bay and the Niagara Escarpment in Ontario, Canada. The wood is the remains of a row of old wood piles sticking out the bay originally there to stop the shoreline eroding.

Canada – lovely. I don’t think of water scenes being associated with that nation. The pingback issues is a mystery. More for some than for others. Let me know if it persists.
